War on Want find Tesco workers paid 16p an hour - Tesco AGM today

The latest research by War on Want reveals that textile workers making garments for Tesco are being paid as little as 16p an hour and the Indian worker who exposed this scandal (as reported on Newsnight) is due to make an appearance at Tesco's AGM today.
The Bangalore factory which supplies Tesco doesn't recognise Trade Unions and workers are being forced to work overtime, sometimes being told not to return to work if they do not comply. There are even reports of workers not drinking water to reduce their need for toilet breaks.
Last year, War on Want called on Tesco shareholders to pay workers a living wage - this resolution was rejected by Tesco. You can access WoW's research here:
