Chelsea College of Art Sell Out at The Subway Gallery

The Subway Gallery, Chelsea College of Art Sell-Out.

Subway Gallery.
There are some invitations which are hard to resist. This is the best one of 2010 so far. Third Year, BA Fine Art students from The Chelsea College of Art have the opportunity and privilege to show and sell their work at one of the most innovative galleries London has ever hosted, The Subway Art Gallery.
Rock down, view the works, and if you are so inclined spread your financial love by purchasing some art works made by students.
It's an open event, so even if you are not minted, you will be made to feel welcome and can view works that a selection of Third Year Chelsea College of Art students deem appropriate to sell. While you are there, at the art gallery based in the subway between the Edgware Road and the Marylebone Road, you will also get a sense of the gallery itself, which used to be a key cutting and shoe repair shop. It's a unique space, situated next to an excellent newsagents (go on buy some crisps or a packet of fags). The Subway Art Gallery is run by a true force-of-artfulness run riot, Robert Gordon McHarg III.
Artists on show and for sale include: Tom Anholt, Esme Baker, Crispin Chetwynd, Nesrin Giray- Delmas, Ren Garden, Maki Ishi, Clive Rowat and Mayumi Yamase. What's also an excellent pull is that the Subway is now apparently called The Joe Strummer Subway.
There is a preview show on Wednesday, January 13th 2010 from 6pm until 9pm and the the show starts on Thursday 14th January and runs until January 30th.
The press release summarises it best: "Start this century’s second decade off at the Subway Gallery with anarchy for profit, in an act of betrayal, at the January SELL-OUT exhibition , where a small group of third years will be compromising their principles for financial gain , come down , support them with your wallet, and help them get rid of all their manifestations.
