Looking for recommendations for a large futon / sofa bed, at least a double, budget up to £1k

Nice place.
So you walk through it when you come in the front door?

Make sure the chimney has been swept and isn't obstructed
Buy a fireguard
Buy fire lighters, kindling, dry firewood
Put some kindling on top of the firelighter, logs on top of the kindling
Light the firelighter, put the fireguard in front of the fire to stop any sparks flying out
Don't put too many logs on at once

Empty out the ash every now and again when it has built up.
Probably the most important thing is to store this outside in a metal bucket as there might still be hot embers.

Looking to get a wooden floor for our new house but haven't got a clue where to start. My mate who is a joiner has recommended engineered wooden flooring with a thick top layer (5/6mm).
I've ordered some samples online and will go into a few stores but it's one of those where there is so much choice. My mate has recommended ordering online. Does anyone know any good stores?

personally with the spaces location it seems odd to put sofa/arm chairs in there, its logic would be to create a boot room here, you could have a wooden bench that could double as storage etc, will still be a nice entrance to main house to great guest etc while giving a function

I was thinking boot room too. Maybe a wood bench to change footwear on the far side, a wood chair in the little corner on the near side, perhaps a coat tree at the far end of the bench.
Or if it’s big enough: small bench in front of main door, and a couple of comfortable but reasonably compact armchairs either side of the fire.

We already have a boot room at the back of the house (which is massively useful with having three kids and dogs). I know what you mean re. a small sofa may look out of place but hoping to make it a separate space with a function as it's such a nice room to be in and would be a shame for it to just be wasted as a large entrance.
The previous owner had a huge antique bureau / writing desk in there (facing the left hand wall in the first picture i.e. if sat there the fireplace would be on your right) but again it didn't feel at all right.

I think unless you want to do some work to make an entrance hall and separate room (office or playroom?), you'd be best off making it a nice cosy entrance just for show that sets the tone for the rest of the house - make the fire the focal point, wingback chairs, bookcase etc. Would be good for christmas.

Thinking of renovating the bathrooms in my flat.
Any good instagram or site for some inspiration?

Just use the search function, depends what style you want. Been doing the same and often pull out some good ideas from architect's accounts. Currently exploring the idea of a bespoke concrete plunge bath but need to work out how to get a good source of hot water first (fully electric and shower only so looking at solar options for next yr)
