Yes, that is what would happen. But this wouldn't be our Devs, the whole migration and site set up would be organised by the new hosted forum provider - that's the beauty is that (in theory) everything would then be run by the 'experts'. Discourse is a managed forum, unlike the current one we have which isn't.

Ed, you've said you'd welcome offers for the site. Why not just be transparent and say how much you're looking for?
Yeah there's a bunch. All with good and bad points. Ultimately every forum is kinda similar though, no?
I'd like to make a bunch of improvements, but working in Django (this site is Django) has been a real pain.
Another option is we just leave things as they are - don't touch the forum. I mean, it's basically ok right?
In this case I'd like to focus on writing articles which was always the plan to grow the site a bit.. well not just me, maybe anyone could write an article, or make a post maybe. Something like that.

I think if you put the viable forums on the table to us, that we can review somehow, and then put a vote towards it and raise some questions - this might be an alright approach?
The forum is alright as it is, but I can understand headache with a legacy platform, and the need to bring it up to date. You just don't want to f-up with the look and feel way too much.

What is the issue with django? I'm a professional dev, I don't work with python but I'd be happy to consult/take a look free of charge for the good of the site (and probably put a target on my back if anything goes wrong :old fuk laughing emoji:

For day to day usage/posting, the site is worse than it was prior to your ownership, Ed.Whilst you'll take this as character assassination and old members/cunts just moaning - it's simply true.
All of this whistle and bell bollocks really isn't needed; Bold, Italics, posting pictures and videos and the ability to actually join the site is really all that's required, pal - get that sorted and you can sit back and watch the cash roll in and not have to address a bunch of moaning cunts on a day to day basis.
