I know how adverts work on the internet, but in the last couple of days most of the adverts were a close up a face and mention of Black Friday. No idea what they're actually advertising.

If you click on the adverts, you can find out more.

Mate, your patter is terrible. How’s about you just make the site useable instead of smart quips back at legit questions.

Couldn’t agree more. He’s always so fucking smug and arrogant.

This site is in such a shit state and he just can’t see it.

The sooner he gets rid of it the better, hopefully not before it’s too late.

I don’t care what the adverts are - it’s not my website and I’m not clicking any of them.

If the strategy for new users is to break things and have cheap, shitty adverts all over the page, this will be the UK’s number 1 fashion community in no time.

With an average of about 10 active users I don't think this place has been in contention for that accolade for at least a decade.

I followed Dreep's advice and moved to Brave browser. No more ads on this site or any site! Only drawback with Brave is for some reason internet banking is ridiculously slow.

It's been like this on the latest update for about a week, hopefully fixed soon, just gotta wait on the page loading.
Remember set up your wallet and set ads to 10 to earn BAT.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I have an accept cookies button on the top of my page. Isn't it illegal for there to not be a reject non-essential cookies button too?

The adverts come from a global ad network. Adverts displayed are relevant to your browsing history and unique to you. I don't control the adverts. What adverts would you prefer to see? If you don't want to see adverts - use ad block. I don't really understand your complaint - most websites have adverts.

You've got to wonder about BAT though.. they block your ads but don't they block your ads but they just take your data and profit from it? I wouldn't recommend using it - no criticism of anyone that does, and I think it is interesting, but I'm naturally suspicious of everything and especially stuff like this.. slightly dubious value crypto projects.

I would suggest just stick to chrome and use a normal ad block.

Read more about BAT anyway before making a decision: https://forums.opensuse.org/showthread.php/557838-Brave-Browser-unsafe-practices-in-Brave-Rewards

I mean you can disable receiving BAT as it's optional, and since Brave runs on chromium, more efficiently with built in tracking disabled and adblockers you're still better sticking with it.
Over months usage I've stopped well over a million tracking attempts and ads, with about 50 hours saved, and about 30gb of data just from stopping loading them up.

I stopped reading that link when one of the opening paragraphs said

"
That was until I found that they function in cybercurrency using some very insecure procedures. To enroll in the cybercurrency account, the account site requires you to make a copy of your picture ID and email it to them. Never send your ID through the internet; that is a "DO NOT DO". That is a common practice of the (mostly Indian) internet scammers and they sell that info and/or harvest what they can from your info. You have no idea of the security procedures of some cybercurrency outfit much less of the internet security in getting the info to them"

Did you even read it? Its people basically going against what the guy is saying… But yeah that's just basic KYC, it's safe.. you need it for all crypto marketplaces, but guess you don't trust banks either since they require it.

Also to his discredit he said cybercurrency.

Anyway you avoided my point my rejecting non essential cookies, thought it was law to have one and for it to be at least the same size as the accept button.

That accept cookies button is provided by the ad network we use called Ezoic - whatever way they are presenting this to you is (as far as I am aware) legitimate.

I don't think it is since there's no reject, you may want to look into that a bit more.
