Paris easily the worst capital in Europe. Shocking city.

This for me also.
Less than 2 hours away and you’re in one of the most beautiful (architecturally) cities in the world in my opinion. Promenades, boulevards, restaurants, woman, history, etc..
From where I’ve been, Florence and Venice both are more attractive but Paris simply for ease of getting there and my fascination with Hemingway from when I was in Uni makes it a regular haunt for me.
As a tip, I always stay in the Latin Quarter, loads of student areas and easy access to Notre Dame, Le Marais, etc..

and for me too.
Personally I've never seen such shocking things there, at least not worse than in any other major European city

Agreed. I like griminess mixed with the high-end. Never had a bad time in the city.
Just got tickets to Paris Olympics 2024, think it'll be great.

I'll write a detailed post as soon as I have some time, visited again just before xmas.
Great atmosphere at Maradona this year, at least so far

Probably about right
I was in Paris just last week, walked everywhere, ate and drank well, and there aren't any scammers around the Carnavalet or Musée de la vie romantique… the pickpocket crew were congregating below the sacre coeur but easy enough to avoid.
Went to:
Early June
Clown Bar
Les Rubis
Deviant
Aux Deux Amis
Pratz
and for coffee, Dreamin' Man and Matamata

I was in BA last February. Great place, especially if you like red wine and steak, as that's kind of their thing over there. I don't know how much you know but the Country is suffering from a debt crisis which means there is crazy inflation. As a tourist don't pay for anything on your credit cards. Instead you need to take US dollars, go to a Western Union and swap your cash for Pesos. That way you'll get a much better exchange rate (you'll get double the Pesos you would get not doing this).
There are some excellent bars and restaurants there. Make some bookings before you go. People generally don't speak great English. I stayed in Palermo and it was a great area. They are mad for football… especially now I guess.

It’s touristy but San Telmo is great.
Also a nice day out the city is kayaking in Tigre. Only half hour by train and you can really escape the crowds.
Steak is the thing as mentioned.
If you’re a meat eater you’re in heaven.
Try El Desnivel in San Telmo. Amazing.
You can get a fast ferry to Montevideo which is a really cool place and worth a visit.
Always surprised how polarizing Paris seems to be. I love the place, always enjoy my visits. There can be some grimy / scummy elements but I've never had any issues thankfully.

Another vote for Paris here. After never having been (excluding Disney land Paris) until I was 35 I've been 3 times I think in the last few years. Think it's stunning architecturally and thankfully never seen any of the dark side of it so far and hope to keep it that way. I've only ever really explored pretty centrally though. It was mega busy when I went last year, uncomfortably in some places like Montmartre. The place does seem super polarising to people though.
People who hate Paris are generally the same people who hate London. Yeah there's shit there but it's an amazing city, just like London.

Heading to Naples for 4 days at the start of April to see Napoli v AC Milan. Looking for any must do recommendations, mainly food and bars.
