Genuinely puzzled how ads are still a part of people's life, I don't think I've seen one for years unless I want to watch it on YouTube or whatever

The TV licence pays for the BBC which doesn't have adverts. You can still watch the others without one
Not true. Need a licence if you watch any live broadcast TV, even if you only watch sky etc. Basically if you're ever caught with an aerial in the back of your telly, it's assumed your watching live TV as it is broadcast and would automatically lead to a civil penalty

On The Beach advert drives me mad. The song gets stuck in my head from the second I hear it
