I liked the story and the man guy was good till a certain point but it just wasn't creepy or scary enough. The og film is much much better.

This. It was genuinely horrific. That bus scene with the guy live streaming ! Why! It’s always the exact same shit with these movies. Some ancient thing, a guy living somewhere in America leading a below par life, questioning if there’s more to his life then all of a sudden he fights a mystical being and his friends are like ‘why didn’t you tell us?’ And then he’s like no sorry I don’t have time time for this now please respect me i need to go somewhere and investigate a portal which has opened between this world and the world I grew up in. There’s talk of a big beast there so I’ll dance around fighting and questioning myself for an hour then kill it and come back to America and be the CEO of a company and marry my best friend ( whose obviously really hot).

You're not wrong. I still have a soft spot for Marvel as I used to love the comics but they need to shake it up a little, it's the same shit again and again especially with the endless stream of generic villains no one gives a shit about.
